Restaurants in Birmingham
Dining in Birmingham is guaranteed to be a first rate experience, with
a huge selection of dishes to choose from. During the evenings and especially
the weekends, the city centre becomes the place to be and most of the
restaurants in the centre get very busy. The choice of restaurants available
to locals, visitors and students will not disappoint. There is a great
variety of international restaurants representing all corners of the globe.
For some top class cuisine, try and book a table at Raymond Blancs, Le
Petit Blanc and if the restaurant is booked out, check out the really
sophisticated Thai Edge restaurant. Birmingham is also famous for its
great Balti Houses, which are famous for their delicious spices and aromatic
curries. The city also lays claim to giving birth to the balti dish. There
are many Balti restaurants located in the city, and
they are very popular with all walks of life.
Broad Street has a great line up of restaurants. If its pub grub or haute
cuisine, a pint of local ale to a five course meal, you will find it all
on Broad Street. The Leftbank restaurant has lots of class, as well as
the highly rated Shimla Pinks, which has won many awards for its great
Indian food. Many popular restaurant chains are located here. Edward's
Cafe bar, and the trendy Brasserie Cafe Rouge are here. Broad Street is
in a great location, situated not far from the ICC and just a stroll away
from the NIA, as well as the city centre.
The Brindley Place Development, which is just off Broad Street and is
a lively centre with some great restaurants. The shogun Teppan Yaki restaurant
here serves up great sushi, while the more trendy set can be seen around
the Bank Restaurant.
For some great Chinese food, make your way down to Birmingham's Chinatown,
where you can enjoy a great stir fry or a lovely chow mein. It is close
to the Arcadian Centre and Thorp Street. Cantonese restaurants like the
Chung Ying Garden serve delicious dishes. The Teppan Yaki restaurant serves
up some great Japanese recipes, with sheer class. In the Arcadian Centre,
you will find the 52 Degrees North restaurant and bar, as well as the
Soba restaurant, which is very popular.
