Staying in Birmingham
If one is planning a stay in Birmingham, the three most popular areas
to stay in would be, the airport and around the NEC, near the 5 Ways roundabout
and the Hagley Road, and mainly around the city centre.
The city has a great selection of accommodation to choose from. The tourist
and the businessman are well catered for. Many of the hotels also have
great conference facilities. 4 Star hotels are in plentiful supply around
here. They are also very close to the main railway station and the central
coach station if one needs to get directly to London the next day. The
city centre is also within walking distance.
The (NEC) National Exhibition Centre is reputed to be the largest exhibition
space in England and hosts some great shows each year. Many of the world's
best entertainers and superstars from the world of music would play to
thousands of fans here. Also the NEC is the home of famous Crufts dog
show, which attracts worldwide audiences. The Clothes Shows is also held
here and is considered the largest fashion event on the planet.
The airport and the NEC are only about 18 miles outside the city centre
and have a great selection of accommodation that will make you feel at
home and are very convenient if you are flying out the next day.
If one is driving to Birmingham, you will come across many motorway hotels
and guesthouses. The five Ways roundabout and Hagley Road is a good area
to find a nice hotel.
